MEMPHIS - Visiting West Georgia completed the comeback in game one, and took an early lead in game two to earn a doubleheader sweep of the Christian Brothers University baseball team, on Saturday afternoon, at Nadicksbernd Field. The Wolves took the opener 9-8 and took game two with a 9-1 win.
This was the Gulf South Conference Opener for both teams.
GAME ONE: UWG 9 (4-4, 1-0 GSC) CBU 8 (3-5, 0-1 GSC)
GAME CHANGER:
UWG hit a solo home run in the top of the ninth to go up 9-8 and win game one.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- Both teams finished the game with 10 hits.
- Three different CBU players had multiple hits.
- Dalton Pyzer led the Bucs, finishing 3-for-4 with a home run and a double.
- Pyzer and Clay Facteau each had two RBIs.
KEY PLAYS:

Clay Facteau single started the CBU scoring in the first, putting the Bucs up 1-0.

Andrew Reed SAC fly added another run making it 2-0.
CBU added two more runs in the third to go up 4-1.
Dalton Pyzer hit a two-run homer in the fourth to push the lead to 6-1.
The Wolves scored five runs in the sixth inning to tie the game 6-6.
A Jared Emory solo home run, in the top of the ninth, proved to be the difference.
GAME TWO: UWG 9 (4-5, 2-0 GSC) CBU 1 (3-6, 0-2 GSC)
GAME CHANGER:
West Georgia hit two home runs in the first inning to go up 3-0.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- The Bucs were outhit 10-4.
- The Bucs had two extra-base hits.
- A solo home run for Ben Brocato was the lone run for CBU.
KEY PLAYS:
West Georgia plated three runs in the first inning to go up 3-0.
The Wolves then scored two more in the second leading 5-0.
UWG wrapped up their scoring with 4 runs in the sixth inning to lead 9-0.
Ben Brocato scored the Bucs' lone run with a home run in the sixth inning.
