Will Gossett hit a walk-off single in the 10th inning to help give the Christian Brothers University baseball team a 12-11 win over West Georgia, on Sunday afternoon, at Nadicksbernd Field. The win helped the Bucs avoid a sweep in their Gulf South Conference series opener.
The win over West Georgia was the first for CBU since 2017.

GAME CHANGER:
Will Gossett hit a walk-off single in the 10th inning to give the Bucs the 12-11 win.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- The Bucs finished with five extra-base hits, including three doubles and a pair of home runs.
- UWG finished with a 14-11 advantage in hits.
- Ben Brocato and Dalton Pyzer each had a home run.
- Brocato finished 2-for-5 with 5 RBIs.

KEY PLAYS:
With the Wolves leading 3-1 the Bucs scored four in the third, highlighted by a two-RBI double from Brocato.
UWG scored the next three runs to take a 6-5 lead after 4.5 innings.
A three-run blast from Brocato put the Bucs up 9-7.
Matthew McDaniel then singled down the left field line to increase the CBU lead to 10-7 after six.
The Wolves responded with four runs, on three hits, to take an 11-10 lead.
CBU tied the game in the eighth after a fielder's choice from McDaniel scored
Shahkai Matthews.
In the 10th, with the international tiebreaker rule in effect (runner placed on second base), the Bucs erased the runner at third after a ground ball to pitcher
Alex Meadows.
After a groundout advanced Matthews to third, and a pair of intentional walks, Gossett won the game with a single up the midde.
NOTEABLES:
- This was the Bucs second walk-off win of the season.
- This marks the third time that Brocato has driven in five runs in a game.
