MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The Christian Brothers University baseball team dropped both games of its doubleheader against Montevallo, on Saturday afternoon, at Bob Riesener Stadium. The Falcons took the opener 16-4 and won the series with a 9-2 win in game two.
GAME ONE: UM 16 (9-4, 1-1 GSC) CBU 4 (6-7, 2-3 GSC)
GAME CHANGER:
The Falcons plated five runs in two separate innings.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
KEY PLAYS:
Royal Hobson hit a solo home run to start the scoring in the first.
CBU then plated three runs in the second to go up 4-2.
Montevallo scored five runs in the bottom of the seventh to end the game.
GAME TWO: UM 9 (10-4, 2-1 GSC) CBU 2 (6-8, 2-4 GSC)
GAME CHANGER:
Montevallo scored six runs in the third to secure the win.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- The Bucs were outhit 10-9.
- Will Gossett led the Bucs going 2-3 with an RBI.
- The CBU pitching staff combined for eight strikeouts and eight stranded runners.
KEY PLAYS:
Royal Hobson singled in the third to open the scoring.
Montevallo plated six runs, on three hits, to take a 6-1 lead in the third.

Will Gossett single drove in another CBU run in the fourth to cut the deficit to 6-2.
The Falcons scored in the fourth, fifth and sixth innings to secure the 9-2 win.
