Royal Hobson hit two home runs to help propel the Christian Brothers University baseball team to a 12-7 win over Miles, on Wednesday afternoon, at Nadicksbernd Field.

GAME CHANGER:
The Bucs plated five runs in the sixth inning to secure the win.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- Royal Hobson led the way going 4-5 with two home runs and five RBIs.
- Sam Walker finished 3-5 with a double and a triple.
- Carson McCaleb and Jalen Smith each recorded two RBIs.
- The CBU pitching staff recorded eight strikeouts and left 14 runners stranded.
- The Bucs had a 12-10 advantage in hits.
KEY PLAYS:
Royal Hobson hit a lead-off homer, and a bases loaded walk saw the Bucs up 2-0 after the first.
With CBU trailing 3-2 in the fourth, the second home run of the game for Hobson gave the Bucs a 4-3 lead.
The Bucs scored five runs, all with two outs, to take a 9-4 lead after six innings.
In the eighth, a
Dalton Pyzer sacrifice fly extended the lead to 12-4.
Miles scored three runs in the ninth, but saw its comeback bid fall just short.
NOTEABLES:
- Hobson is now tied for the team lead with five home runs. He has also homered in three of the last four contests.
- Hobson had a career high five RBIs.
- The RBIs for McCaleb and Smith were the first of their careers.
