Bucs Shoot Way Past Valdosta State

VALDOSTA, Ga. – The Christian Brothers University men's basketball team used a 56 percent shooting performance to help it pick up a 91-76 win over Valdosta State, on Thursday night, at The Complex. 

The victory marked the first for CBU, at Valdosta State, since 2015.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • A back-and-forth opening 10 minutes saw the Bucs lead 19-18. 
  • CBU led by as many as nine points before the Blazers cut the deficit to 43-39 at the break. 
  • The Bucs hit 17 of their 29 shots, in the opening half, including 16-of-22 from inside the three-point line. 
  • Jailen Anderson knocked down a jumper to give CBU a 67-53 lead at the halfway point of the second half. 
  • The Blazers were unable to cut the deficit to single digits for the rest of the contest.

  • The Bucs never trailed in the game. 
  • The Bucs have shot over 50 percent eight times this season. 
  • CBU outscored the Blazers in the paint 52-42. 
  • The Bucs hit 16 of their 18 free throws.

  • Jailen Anderson led the Bucs with a game-high 24 points and seven assists. The ASU Mid-South transfer played the entire 40 minutes. 
  • Madison Monroe added a double-double with 18 points and 11 rebounds. 
  • Christian Jones (19), Anias Futrell (15) and Christian Thompson (10) also finished with double-figure points.
