BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Christian Brothers University track and field team had Steven Conrad named Gulf South Conference Field Athlete of the Week, as announced by the league office, on Wednesday. 

Competing at the Rhodes Invitational, Conrad earned his first weekly honor of the season and fourth of his career after throwing 14.94 meters in the shot put and 45.97 meters in the discus. The Cordova native finished fifth in the shot put and sixth is discus.

Conrad is currently ranked first in the GSC in shot put and first in the discus throw. His throw in discus also surpassed his own CBU school record.
