Box Score Mobile, Ala. — Christian Brothers University women's soccer faced a tough Gulf South Conference road test on Friday afternoon, dropping a 3–0 decision to Spring Hill at Library Field.
The Lady Buccaneers held strong through much of the first half, creating early pressure with corner kicks from Lara Sanchez and Mack Campbell, but the Badgers struck first in the 20th minute when Riley Davis scored off an assist from Ashley Drennon.
Despite the early deficit, CBU continued to fight for possession. Lia Haggstrom and Savanna Mondesir-Singh helped drive play through the midfield, while defenders Chloe May and Mack Campbell anchored the back line against a sharp Spring Hill attack.
Spring Hill added to its lead just after halftime when Sofia Jimenez Garcia converted off a setup from Felicia Ajayi in the 46th minute. The Badgers would seal the match in the 83rd minute as Ellie King finished a chance assisted by Hailey Blanott.
Madison Woolridge and Cristal Tellez were both issued yellow cards in the physical contest, highlighting the intensity that CBU brought throughout the match.
The Lady Bucs recorded five total shots, with Sanchez leading the effort with two attempts, while goalkeeper Kaylee Allen played all 90 minutes in net.
Christian Brothers (1-9-1, 0-7-0 GSC) will look to rebound when it returns home next week for another conference matchup.
