Memphis, TN- Christian Brothers put together solid stretches on Saturday night, finishing with 18 assists, 10 steals, and 10 made threes, but ultimately fell 83–64 in a game in which Henderson State shot efficiently around the rim and built its lead late. Even with the result, the Bucs showed key strengths that will carry into the next matchup.
CBU's scoring was led by Marquis Gill and Iman Kheirati, who each posted 14 points, with Kheirati adding 11 rebounds for a double-double. Max Cain chipped in 9 points, knocking down three triples, while Turner Duncan added another 9 points off the bench. In total, CBU's bench contributed 17 points, a bright spot that gave the team energy throughout the night.
Defensively, the Bucs forced 14 turnovers and turned them into 17 points the other way, showing their ability to create opportunities through pressure. They also hit 10 three-pointers, keeping themselves within striking distance for much of the contest.
As the team turns the page, the focus shifts toward sharpening execution and carrying over the positives ball movement, active hands, and balanced scoring into their next game. The Bucs have shown they can generate quality shots and make teams uncomfortable, and they're determined to respond with a stronger performance.
The message in the locker room was simple: learn, adjust, and bounce back. With another opportunity ahead, CBU is ready to regroup and hit the floor with even more purpose next time out.
