Raheen Taranum was named the Gulf South Conference's Player of the Week on Wednesday.
During a three-match week, Taranum helped the Lady Bucs go 2-1 as they started the 2025 season. The sophomore went 3-0 in singles action, tallying a pair of wins from court two against Texas A&M-Texarkana's Emmanouela Besi (3-6, 7-6, 1-0) and Freed-Hardeman's Morgan Brown (7-5, 6-1), while downing Goshen's Sara Nino (6-0, 6-2) on court three. Taranum also featured at No. 2 doubles, alongside
Valerie Neumann, as they defeated Texarkana's Jaelee Young and Adrianne Guangko (6-2) and before falling to Goshen's Uliana Dotsenko and Ariadna Otin (2-6).
