CBU Women’s Tennis Battles AUM, UOM, And Millsaps College Over The Weekend

Game 1 vs AUM

Christian Brothers University women's tennis showed strong competitiveness against AUM, highlighted by standout performances at the top of the lineup. The No. 1 doubles team of Valerie Neumann and Raheen Taranum delivered an impressive 7–5 win, setting the tone with aggressive net play and consistent serving.

In singles, Fernanda Garcia Galvez continued her strong day with a victory at No. 3 singles, winning 7–5, 4–6, 12-10. Her control from the baseline and ability to dictate points stood out as a key bright spot for CBU. 

Game 2 vs UOM (Second Match)

CBU again highlighted its strength at the top of the lineup in the second meeting with UOM. Valerie Neumann and Raheen Taranum repeated their success in No. 1 doubles, securing another 6–4 win and continuing their consistent doubles play.

Neumann once more delivered a strong performance in singles, winning decisively at No. 1. Taranum again opened her match with a strong first set before she had to retire. Neha Dandu and Fernanda Garcia Galvez continued to gain valuable match experience in singles, battling through challenging matchups.

While the Bucs were shorthanded in the lower lineup spots, their top players consistently stood out, giving the team momentum and confidence moving forward.

Game 3 vs Millsaps

CBU closed the stretch with a strong singles showing against MC, highlighted by dominant performances across the top three courts. Neumann led the way at No. 1 singles with an 8–2 victory, showing control and poise throughout the match. Dandu followed with an 8–4 win at No. 2 singles, using steady baseline play and consistency to secure the point. Garcia Galvez capped the singles success with an 8–3 win at No. 3, continuing her strong day on the court.

Despite forfeits in doubles and the lower singles spots, the Bucs showed their depth and potential at the top of the lineup. The singles wins demonstrated the team's competitive ceiling and provided a positive step forward as the season continues.
