CBU Battles Through Tight Series, Falls in Extras Before Earning Split

Game 1 – Auburn Montgomery 7, Christian Brothers 6 (11 innings)
Christian Brothers opened the series with a strong start but came up just short in an extra-inning battle, falling 7-6 in 11 innings.

CBU jumped ahead early with three runs in the first inning. Ivan Zambrano drove in the first run with a single, and Mikey Rodriquez followed with a two-run home run to give the Buccaneers a 3-0 lead.

Auburn Montgomery responded in the middle innings, scoring two runs in the third and adding three more in the fourth to take a 5-3 lead. They extended it to 6-3 in the seventh before CBU answered again.

In the bottom of the seventh, the Buccaneers rallied. Zambrano delivered an RBI single, and Rodriquez came through again with a two-run single to tie the game at 6-6.

Both teams were held scoreless until the 11th inning, when Auburn Montgomery pushed across the go-ahead run on a passed ball. CBU could not respond in the bottom half.

Rodriquez led the offense with four RBIs, while Zambrano added two hits and two RBIs. Shahkai Matthews also contributed three hits. Despite a strong effort from the bullpen, CBU fell just short in a tightly contested game.

Game 2 – Auburn Montgomery 4, Christian Brothers 2
The second game was another close contest, but Auburn Montgomery used a late surge to secure a 4-2 win.

Both teams traded runs in the first inning, with Zambrano driving in a run for CBU to tie the game at 1-1. From there, the game settled into a pitching duel, as CBU starter Cameron Olivo kept Auburn Montgomery in check through seven innings.

The game remained tied until the eighth, when Auburn Montgomery broke through with three runs, highlighted by a two-run double and an RBI single to take a 4-1 lead.

CBU answered with a run in the bottom of the eighth on an RBI double from Isaac Lemanski, but the comeback attempt ended there.

The Buccaneers were limited to just three hits in the game, with Lemanski and Zambrano accounting for the team's RBIs.

Game 3 – Christian Brothers 5, Auburn Montgomery 4
Christian Brothers closed the series with a strong performance, holding off Auburn Montgomery for a 5-4 win.

CBU set the tone early, scoring three runs in the first inning behind RBI hits from Isaac Lemanski, Will Gossett, and Zowen Collins. Jackson Licata added to the lead with a solo home run in the second, making it 4-0.

After Auburn Montgomery cut into the lead with two runs in the fourth, CBU responded in the bottom half with another run, as Licata drove in his second RBI of the game to make it 5-2.

Auburn Montgomery continued to chip away, scoring once in the fifth and again in the seventh to make it a one-run game, but the Buccaneers held on late.

Kade Johnson earned the win after five solid innings, while Jackson Allred recorded the save to secure the victory.

Licata led the offense with a home run and two RBIs, while CBU finished with nine hits in a balanced effort.
