CBU Women’s Golf Claims Second Tournament Title Behind Williamson’s Individual Win

Tigerville, SC- The Christian Brothers University women's golf team continued its strong spring run with another impressive performance, capturing its second tournament victory of the season and securing wins in two of its last three events.

Despite competing in their third tournament this month, the Lady Buccaneers showed no signs of slowing down. Their consistency across the lineup proved to be the difference, with multiple players finishing near the top of the leaderboard.

Leading the way was junior Chloe Williamson, who delivered a composed and steady performance to earn the individual title. Williamson finished with a two-round total of 155 (+11), shooting rounds of 77 and 78. Her ability to stay calm under pressure, especially down the stretch, helped seal the win.

CBU's depth was on full display as Emma Butler and Cesilee Mokry both tied for second place at 158 (+14). Butler posted rounds of 76 and 82, while Mokry followed up an opening 81 with a strong 77 in round two. Mayte Ortiz added another solid finish for the Buccaneers, tying for seventh at 166 (+22), and Jordan Pigeon rounded out the scoring with a tie for 15th at 177 (+33).

The team's collective effort highlighted both improvement and resilience, especially given the demanding stretch of competition.

Head coach Victoria Jackson praise reflected that growth and determination:

"I am really impressed by the women's team. This was their third week in a row with a tournament, so I know they are tired, but they definitely did not let that get to them! The girls worked hard to work on the areas they weren't as strong with last week, and it really showed. Every team member shared the same mindset and goal, and it was evident on the course that all of the girls were working toward the same thing. I think having these two wins has given our team some confidence going into our last few events of the year and conference. I am just excited to see how much they have grown from the beginning of this school year, and can't wait to see what else we can get done!"

The coach also highlighted Williamson's standout performance:

"I am extremely proud of our junior Chloe Williamson, who was the individual winner for the tournament! Chloe is a great teammate and so fun to coach, so it was great to watch all of her hard work pay off. I am very proud of how calm and steady she was, especially the last 9 holes of the tournament, knowing she was in the lead and being able to hold her composure and continue to play good golf!"

With momentum building and confidence rising, the Lady Buccaneers now turn their focus toward the final events of the season and conference play, aiming to carry this success forward.
