CBU Women’s Cross Country Earns All-Academic Team Honors, Ranked 15th Nationally In D2

Memphis, TN- The Christian Brothers University women's cross country team has earned All-Academic Team honors from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association, highlighting the Lady Buccaneers' success both in competition and in the classroom.

CBU finished the year ranked 15th nationally with a team GPA of 3.74, placing the program among the top academic teams in the country.

To qualify for All-Academic Team recognition, programs must maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, including the most recent grading period, and compile a team score at their respective regional championship meet, among other criteria. The Lady Buccaneers met those standards to secure the national academic honor.

CBU also had several student-athletes earn individual All-Academic recognition for their performances during the season. Sophomore Lauren Blyth, a Business Management major, was recognized for her strong results on the course and in the classroom.

Two standout freshmen also earned the distinction. Phoebe Steel, who is majoring in Early Childhood Education, and Kaley Byrd, a Finance major, each met the criteria for the honor.

To earn individual All-Academic recognition, student-athletes must maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 3.25 on a 4.0 scale and finish in the top 30 percent of their respective regional championship meet, among other qualifications.

The recognition highlights the Lady Buccaneers' commitment to excellence in both athletics and academics as the program continues to build a strong foundation for the future.
