PENSACOLA, Fla.—Third-seeded West Florida edged the Christian Brothers University Bucs 2-0 Friday evening in the Gulf South Conference semifinals.
The Argos (14-3-2) jumped out to a lead in the 36th minute when Jason Ream scored off a Matt Williams cross, and they tacked on the final goal in the 88th minute as Rafael Segal fed a lead pass to Christian Cabral as they perfectly executed a 2-on-2 chance.
The Bucs out-shot UWF 12-10, including a 6-4 edge in shots on goal, but first-team All-GSC keeper Thomas Olmstead turned in a clean sheet with six saves as he picked up his third shutout of the season.
The Bucs finish the season at 10-7-2. Six seniors,
