DECATUR, Ala.—Eckerd scored a last-minute goal to force overtime, where they eventually won 2-1 over the Christian Brothers University Bucs Sunday afternoon at Jack Allen Park in Decatur, Ala.
The Bucs (2-3-1) struck first in the 76th minute as
Brenden Ross (Toronto, Ontario/Father Michael Goetz HS) headed in a cross from
Rasaq Kuteyi (Lagos, Nigeria/Mansfield (TX) Summit High School) for his second goal of the year.
The Tritons (4-2) answered with just seconds left as Anthony Arico scored on a 90th-minute header to force overtime. They won it in overtime as Jimmy Lawler scored the golden goal off a Will Thacker assist in the 98th minute.
The Bucs out-shot Eckerd 13-11 for the game, but the Tritons held an 8-4 edge in shots on goal.
The Bucs will be back home Saturday as they take on Palm Beach Atlantic.
