No. 17 Bucs Pull Away Again 60-46

Nick Kohs' 25-point, 11-rebound performance lifted the Bucs to a 60-46 win over Southern Arkansas Thursday night.
Box Score MEMPHIS—For the second straight game, the No. 17 Christian Brothers University Bucs pulled away quickly with a second-half run as they won 60-46 over Southern Arkansas Thursday night to remain in a tie for first in the Gulf South Conference West Division.

The Bucs (16-3, 5-1 GSC West) trailed 24-23 with 3:30 remaining in the first half after Mulerider guard David Noble knocked down a three-pointer.  CBU's Nick Kohs (Cincinnati, Ohio/Lakota East HS) answered with a rare 17-foot jumper, sparking what would become a 16-0 run that he capped with another jumper in the lane, giving the Bucs a 39-24 lead with 14:44 remaining.

The Muleriders (7-11, 1-5) cut the lead back to nine, but a 12-3 CBU run put the game away for good.

Kohs led the Bucs with 25 points and 11 rebounds.  He reached three milestones in the win, surpassing the 1,500-point mark, the 1,000-rebound mark, and he recorded his 150th career block.

Reggie Peyton (Memphis, Tenn./St. Benedict HS) scored 16, while Kyle Couvion (Dayton, Ohio/Centerville HS) had seven assists and seven rebounds to go with his six points.

Justin Stuart led the Muleriders with 15 points.

The Bucs will conclude the first half of the GSC West schedule Saturday night at 6 p.m. as they visit No. 22 Arkansas Tech.
