SEARCY, Ark.—The Christian Brothers University Bucs claimed a 3-1 win at Harding Sunday afternoon to clinch their sixth consecutive Gulf South Conference Tournament berth.
The Bucs (6-8-1, 3-1 GSC) struck first in the 17th minute as
Andrew Ballard (Memphis, Tenn./Briarcrest Christian HS) scored off a
Joshua Menard (Lafayette, La./Lafayette HS) cross. A 55th-minute
Robert Mingo (Covington, La./St. Paul's HS) score off a
Clark Bradford (Blackburn, England/Ribblesdale HS) corner kick doubled the margin, and
Yannick Skull (Adelaide, Australia/Woodcroft College) put it out of reach in the 83rd minute with a goal on a free kick.
Jay Skinner headed in a Drew Nowlin cross for the Bisons (4-13, 1-3) in the 86th minute to set the final margin at 3-1.
With the win, the Bucs will be either the No. 2 or No. 3 seed in next month's GSC Tournament in Pensacola, Fla., where they would face wither Alabama-Huntsville or West Florida. The winner of Friday's game between Harding and Ouachita Baptist will earn the No. 4 seed.
The Bucs visit Alabama-Hunstville Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 p.m. The Bucs would earn the No. 2 seed with a win.
