Bucs Tie UAH 0-0, Wrap Up Third Seed

Gordon Blum took three shots, two on goal, as the Bucs tied Alabama-Huntsville 0-0 Wednesday afternoon.
HUNTSVILLE, Ala.—The Christian Brothers University Bucs played Alabama-Huntsville to a scoreless draw Wednesday afternoon, setting the top three seeds in next weekend's Gulf South Conference Tournament.

The Bucs (6-8-2, 3-1-1 GSC) out-shot UAH 20-7, including an 8-2 margin in shots on goal, but UAH goalkeeper Tyler Earley made eight saves for the shutout.  Harrison Cheatham (Franklin, Tenn./Centennial HS) made a pair of saves for the Bucs as he collected his second shutout of the season.

With the tie, Alabama-Huntsville earns the No. 2 seed, and the Bucs clinch the No. 3 seed in the GSC Tournament, which will be  played next weekend at Brosnaham Park in Pensacola, Fla.  West Florida had already clinched the top spot, while Ouachita Baptist hosts Harding Friday afternoon in a battle for the No. 4 seed.

Thed two teams will meet again next Friday, Nov. 6, at 4:30 p.m. in the GSC Semifinals in Pensacola, Fla.  The Bucs finish the regular season wtih two non-conference games.  They host Harding in a non-conference game Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m. at Collierville High School, and they face Rhodes Tuesday night at 7 p.m. at Mike Rose Soccer Complex's Field 6.
