COLLIERVILLE—The Christian Brothers University Bucs celebrated Senior Night with a 4-0 win over Harding Monday night in non-conference soccer action at Collierville High School.
The Bucs (7-8-1) struck first in the 17th minute as
Zach Tubinis (Memphis, Tenn./Houston HS) scored off a
Billy Otieno (Ngong, Kenya/Kanunga HS) cross.
Gideon Leteyian (Namanga, Kenya/Kiluani New Life Secondary School) scored his first goal at CBU in the 41st minute off a cross from
Adamandios Toras (Meitarie, La./Archbishop Rummel HS).
After the break, the Bucs kept the pressure on, scoring a pair of goals just 81 seconds apart.
Matt Sihvonen (Covington, La./St. Paul's HS) headed in an
Eric Taylor (Memphis, Tenn./Christian Brothers HS) corner kick in the 68th minute, and
Gordon Blum (Houma, La./Vanderbilt Catholic HS) fed
Alex Bermel (Memphis, Tenn./White Station HS) for a goal in the 70th minute.
Harrison Cheatham (Franklin, Tenn./Centennial HS) made seven saves as he blanked the Bisons (4-15) for his third clean sheet of the season.
The Bucs close out the regular season tomorrow night as they take on Rhodes at Mike Rose Soccer Complex. They face Alabama-Huntsville Friday afternoon at 4:30 p.m. in the semifinals of the Gulf South Conference Tournament.
