MEMPHIS—The Christian Brothers University Bucs finished their regular season schedule Tuesday night with a 3-1 win over Rhodes at Mike Rose Soccer Complex.
The Bucs (8-8-2) wasted no time taking control as
Matt Sihvonen (Covington, La./St. Paul's HS) headed in a
Clark Bradford (Blackburn, England/Ribblesdale HS) corner kick in the sixth minute. Five minutes later it was Bradford who scored on an
Adamandios Toras (Meitarie, La./Archbishop Rummel HS) cross to make the score 2-0 Bucs. Toras fed
Billy Otieno (Ngong, Kenya/Kanunga HS) in the 23rd minute to give the Bucs a 3-0 lead that they held until the final minutes.
Rhodes (8-8-1) scored their only goal in the 89th minute as Will Wurster scored off an Ilan Isaacs cross.
The Bucs return to the field Friday afternoon at 4:30 p.m. as they take on Alabama-Huntsville in the semifinals of the Gulf South Conference Tournament.
