Bucs Draw Indianapolis in Double-OT

Andrew Ballard scored the equalizer as the Bucs tied Indianapolis 1-1 in two overtimes Friday night at Mike Rose Soccer Complex.
MEMPHIS—The Christian Brothers University Bucs fought visiting Indianapolis to a 1-1 tie Friday night at Mike Rose Soccer Complex.

The Greyhounds (0-0-1) struck first when Bobby Adkins scored unassisted in the 22nd minute, and the lead held for the remainder of the first half.

The Bucs (1-0-1) answered quickly in the second half, however, as Andrew Ballard (Memphis, Tenn./Briarcrest Christian HS) finished off a set piece with his second goal of the season, scoring off a Clark Bradford (Blackburn, England/Ribblesdale HS) corner kick.  Zach Tubinis (Memphis, Tenn./Houston HS) also assisted on the play.

From there, the defenses and goalkeepers Harrison Cheatham (Franklin, Tenn./Centennial HS) of CBU and Justin Roberts of Indianapolis were the story, keeping the game tied for the rest of regulation as well as both overtimes.  Cheatham made three of his four saves in overtime, while Roberts made three saves.

The Bucs will finish their whirlwind opening weekend with their third game in four days Sunday as they take on Florida Tech at 11:30 a.m.  The game will be played at Mike Rose Soccer Complex Field 15.
