BOCA RATON, Fla.—No. 6 Lynn used two goals and two assists from Paulo Vaz as they rolled past the Christian Brothers University Bucs 4-0 Sunday afternoon in the Embassy Suites Classic.
The Knights (6-0) took command with two goals from Vaz just 1:59 apart in the first half. The first, just after the 20-minute mark, was assisted by Gabe Taboada and Scott Gordon, and he tacked on another goal just after the 22-minute mark off a cross from Luke Magill.
In the second half, Vaz was on the giving end, combining with Taboada to assist on a Kyle Conrad goal in the 47th minute and teaming up with Gordon to feed Scott McCubbin for a 78th-minute score to set the final margin at 4-0.
The Knights out-shot the Bucs (2-4-1) 16-6, with a 9-4 edge in shots on goal.
Harrison Cheatham (Franklin, Tenn./Centennial HS) made five saves for the Bucs.
The Bucs return to the field next Sunday at 3 p.m. as they visit Delta State in a non-conference game.
