Argos Bury Bucs Late 4-1

David Skull scored his first CBU goal in the ninth minute, but the Bucs lost 4-1 at West Florida Saturday afternoon.
PENSACOLA, Fla.—The Christian Brothers University Bucs couldn't make an early lead hold up, eventually losing 4-1 as host West Florida scored three goals in the final 12 minutes to sink the Bucs to 0-2 in Gulf South Conference play.

The Bucs (3-8-1, 0-2-0 GSC) scored early as David Skull (Adelaide, Australia/Woodcroft College) found the net off an Ebai Ayuk (Atlanta, Ga./East Paulding HS) corner kick.  The Bucs made the lead stand up until the 37th minute, when Jake Pratt headed in a cross from Frank Cope.

From there, the teams were even for 41 minutes, but UWF (6-3-2, 3-0-0) took the lead for good in the 79th minute as Sean Reynolds finished a cross on a Cope free kick.  Nick Salafrio tacked on another score in the 84th minute on the rebound of a Matt Tanner shot, and Marquel Waldron scored on a penalty with 10 seconds remaining in the game.

The Argos out-shot the Bucs 12-7, including a 9-4 edge in shots on goal.

The Bucs are off until next Sunday, when they visit Ouachita Baptist in a Gulf South Conference tilt at 3:00 p.m.  Their next home game is Sunday, Oct. 24, against Harding.
