Box Score HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky.—Thirteen players scored as the Christian Brothers University Bucs routed Cincinnati-Clermont 84-44 Saturday night in the John L. Griffin/Lions Club Classic at Northern Kentucky University's Bank of Kentucky Center.
The Bucs (4-1) opened the game with a 24-3 run in the first 7:18 and never allowed the Cougars (2-2) to come closer than 15 points the rest of the way.
The Bucs' scoring was balanced with junior center
Zack Warner (St. Louis, Mo./Clayton HS) leading the way with 15 points and eight rebounds, while freshman guard
Cory McArthy (St. Louis, Mo./Christian Brothers College HS) scored 13 off the bench. Of the 14 players on the Bucs' roster, only
Syd Warner (St. Louis, Mo./Clayton HS) did not score, and he contributed a pair of assists in five minutes.
Langston Cooke led the Cougars with 16, and Keylo Jones added 11.
A game after shooting a frigid 26.1 percent in a 51-44 loss to Northern Kentucky, the Bucs shot 52.7 percent (29-of-55) from the floor and 45.8 percent (11-of-24) from three-point range. CBU was 17-of-25 in the first half. The Bucs also out-rebounded UCC 41-29 and forced 15 turnovers while committing 12.
The Bucs will return to Canale Arena Tuesday night as they host Lambuth at 7 p.m.
