PENSACOLA, Fla.—Top-seeded West Florida used a pair of first-half goals to claim their fifth straight Gulf South Conference title, topping the Christian Brothers University Bucs 2-0 in Sunday afternoon's championship game.
The Argos (14-4-2) scored first in the 36th minute on a long shot from Alex Dumond, and a Daniel Martini goal in the 39th minute set the final margin.
The Bucs (9-9-1) struggled to answer, as the UWF defense locked the game down, only allowing CBU five shots. UWF out-shot the Bucs 9-5, with each team putting three shots on target.
