Box Score MEMPHIS—The Christian Brothers University Bucs ran their winning streak to five games with a 65-51 win over Blue Mountain Saturday afternoon at Canale Arena in their final game before the Christmas holidays.

The visiting Toppers (5-8) jumped out to an early 11-5 lead after back-to-back three-pointers from Renell Collins and Corbin Harris, but the Bucs (10-2) answered quickly as Scott Dennis (Cincinnati, Ohio/Sycamore HS) scored seven straight points, followed by a Zack Warner (St. Louis, Mo./Clayton HS) jumper.  The 9-0 run put the Bucs ahead for good, though they could never extend the lead beyond seven points in the first half.

They finally stretched the lead out early in the second half, chewing nearly seven minutes off the clock during a 13-2 run capped by a fastbreak layup from Dennis that put the Bucs in front 46-33 with 12:22 remaining.  The Toppers never came closer than nine points again.

Dennis logged game-highs of 19 points, 10 rebounds, five assists, and four steals.  Warner scored 17 and swatted three shots, while Harry Green (Memphis, Tenn./White Station HS) added nine for the Bucs.

Lakendrick McCullum paced the Toppers with 12 points and eight rebounds, while Josh McCalmon added 11.  Harris added nine with eight rebounds.

The Bucs shot 43.9 percent (18-of-41) from the floor and 38.1 percent (8-of-21) from three-point range.  The Toppers were 45.2 percent (19-of-42) overall and 45.5 percent (5-of-11) from beyond the arc.  The Bucs shot 72.4 percent (21-of-29) from the free throw line, while the Toppers were 72.7 percent (8-of-11).

The Bucs out-rebounded the Toppers 27-20 and forced 19 turnovers while committing 15.

After taking a break for Christmas, the Bucs return to action Thursday, Dec. 30, at 7 p.m. as they host No. 12 Montevallo.
