HUNTSVILLE, Ala.—The Christian Brothers University Bucs scored a goal in each half as they claimed a 2-0 non-conference win at Alabama-Huntsville Sunday afternoon.
The Bucs (2-3-1) found the net in the 21st minute as
Adamandios Toras (Meitarie, La./Archbishop Rummel HS) passed a through ball to
Gideon Leteyian (Namanga, Kenya/Kiluani New Life Secondary School), who finished for his first goal of the season.
Samuel Chun (Quito, Ecuador/Ari Pinto das Nevis) tacked on a 70th-minute score off an
Andrew Ballard (Memphis, Tenn./Briarcrest Christian HS) assist to set the final margin.
The Bucs out-shot the Chargers (1-5) 15-9, with a 10-4 edge in shots on goal.
Jaime Garcia (San Salvador, El Salvador/Lincoln School) made four saves en route to his first college shutout, while Tyler Earley saved eight shots for the Chargers.
The Bucs come home Tuesday night at 7 p.m. for another South Region contest against No. 13 Montevallo.
