Jose Ferraz scored both goals in the Bucs' 2-0 win over Alabama-Huntsville Sunday afternoon.
Box Score MEMPHIS—The Christian Brothers University Bucs used two first-half goals from freshman sensation Jose Ferraz (Belo Horizonte, Brazil) to claim a 2-0 win over Alabama-Huntsville Sunday afternoon at Signaigo Field in a battle of the only unbeaten teams remaining in Gulf South Conference play.

Ferraz scored the game-winner, his 10th goal of the season, in the seventh minute as he headed in a Tony Aloia (Hallsville, Texas/Hallsville HS) corner kick.  He scored his second goal of the day in the 23rd minute when he headed in a loose ball, assisted by Michael Hollier (Lafayette, La./Teurlings HS) and Matt Derise (Lafayette, La./St. Thomas More HS).  With 11 goals, Ferraz has the most goals by a CBU player in a season since Matt Werakso scored 18 in 2006.

On the other end, Jaime Garcia (San Salvador, El Salvador/Lincoln School) recorded his second straight shutout, making three saves.  The Bucs (11-3, 2-0 GSC) out-shot UAH (8-4, 3-1) 15-10, including a 7-3 edge in shots on goal.

The Bucs hit the road next weekend for their two GSC road games.  They visit Ouachita Baptist Friday at 3:30 and Harding Sunday at 3:30 before concluding the regular season Saturday, Oct. 29, at home against Delta State at 3 p.m.
