Lady Wildcats Outlast Lady Bucs 2-1

Allison Tutt scored the Lady Bucs' only goal in a 2-1 loss to Bethel Saturday afternoon.
Box Score MEMPHIS—Visiting Bethel scored the winning goal in the 77th minute to claim a 2-1 win over the Christian Brothers University Lady Bucs Saturday afternoon at Signaigo Field.

The Lady Wildcats (9-4) opened the scoring in the 22nd minute, when Melissa Madden scored on a free kick.  The Lady Bucs (4-5-2) would equalize in the 37th minute.  Anna Laskarzewska (Edmonton, Alberta/Archbishop O'Leary) passed a through-ball to Emily Smith (Memphis, Tenn./Briarcrest Christian HS) heading into the corner.  Smith crossed it into the box for Allison Tutt (Collierville, Tenn./Collierville HS), who headed it in to tie the game.

The score remained level at one until the 77th minute, when Bethel scored in a wild flurry of shots from point blank range.  After shots by Ariel Morris and Victoria Musyoki had been blocked in the preceding seconds, Bethel's Deslyan Langaigne fired the shot into the net for what proved to be the winner.

The Lady Bucs were out-shot 25-15 for the game, including a 13-7 margin in shots on goal.

The Lady Bucs hit the road Tuesday afternoon when they visit West Alabama for the first time at 12:30 p.m.  The Lady Bucs' next home game is Friday night at 5 p.m. against West Florida.
