Seven Bucs Honored on All-GSC Teams

David Skull (above), Yannick Skull, Michael Hollier, and Jose Ferraz earned First Team All-GSC spots after leading the Bucs to a perfect conference record.
BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—After posting a perfect 5-0 conference record, the No. 9 Christian Brothers University Bucs dominated the All-Gulf South Conference teams announced today by the league office, placing four players on the All-GSC First Team and three more on the Second Team to go with the Freshman of the Year and the Coach of the Year.

Junior defender David Skull (Adelaide, Australia/Woodcroft College), junior midfielder Yannick Skull (Adelaide, Australia/Woodcroft College), and sophomore midfielder Michael Hollier (Lafayette, La./Teurlings HS) joined GSC Freshman of the Year Jose Ferraz (Belo Horizonte, Brazil/) on the All-GSC First Team.  Ferraz was the GSC's top scorer this year with 14 goals, including six game-winners.  Hollier scored six goals in 13 games, including four game-winners.  The Skull brothers were integral parts of a CBU defense that allowed just 14 goals in 17 games, including one goal in conference play.

Freshman defender Sean Rutter (Bristol, England/Filton College), sophomore defender Nicolas Alvarez-Garcia, and sophomore goalkeeper Jaime Garcia (San Salvador, El Salvador/Lincoln School) earned spots on the All-GSC Second Team.

Head coach Clint Browne earned his second GSC Coach of the Year award, as he also won the award in 2005.  His Bucs finished 5-0 in the GSC, winning their second GSC regular season crown and the first since 2001.

The Bucs open postseason play Friday night at  7 p.m. when they take on Harding in the GSC Semifinals.
