No. 14 Wonder Boys Outlast Bucs 67-52

Jimmy Palmer matched his career high with 12 points, but the Bucs dropped a 67-52 decision at No. 14 Arkansas Tech Monday night.
Box Score MEMPHIS—No. 14 Arkansas Tech out-scored the Christian Brothers University Bucs 29-11 over the final 10:30 as they won 67-52 Monday night to remain unbeaten in GSC West play.

The Bucs (17-7, 5-5 GSC West) led for most of the game, using a 16-5 run in the first half to take a 23-15 lead after back-to-back threes by Jimmy Palmer (Hernando, Miss./Hernando HS) with 6:05 remaining in the half.

A Cory McArthy (St. Louis, Mo./Christian Brothers College HS) backdoor layup put the Bucs in front 41-38 with 10:52 remaining, but a pair of Laithe Massey free throws sparked the decisive run in the end.  The Wonder Boys (19-3, 10-0) took the lead for good on a Johnie Davis layup on the next possession.  The Bucs kept the margin within eight points until a Jeremy Dunbar three-pointer sparked a 13-3 burst to end the game.

Harry Green (Memphis, Tenn./White Station HS) paced the Bucs with a game-high 18 points.  Palmer and Michael Drake (Little Rock, Ark./Catholic HS) added 12 points each.

James Causey led ATU with 16 points.  Dunbar scored 15.  Laithe Massey added 14, and Johnie Davis added 10.

The Bucs come home Thursday night to take on Ouachita Baptist at 7 p.m.
