Bucs Edge Bulldogs 1-0

Jose Ferraz scored 24 seconds into the second half as the Bucs won 1-0 over Union Tuesday night.
Box Score MEMPHIS—The Christian Brothers University Bucs capitalized on a quick opportunity at the beginning of the second half for the game's only goal in a 1-0 win over Union Tuesday night at Signaigo Field.

After a scoreless first half, the Bucs (1-1) struck just 24 seconds into the second half.  A pass forward was deflected right to Jose Ferraz (Belo Horizonte, Brazil/) in the box, and he buried the ball in the left corner of the net.

From there, the Bucs' defense held strong as Jaime Garcia (San Salvador, El Salvador/Lincoln School) turned in the team's first clean sheet of the season, making four saves.  The Bulldogs out-shot the Bucs 16-12 for the game, with a 4-2 edge in shots on goal.

The Bucs hit the road Thursday afternoon as they visit Alabama-Huntsville at 4:30 p.m.  Their next home game is set for Tuesday, Sept. 13, against Rhodes at 7 p.m.
