Scott Dennis (Cincinnati, Ohio, Sycamore HS) posted the first triple-double in school history with 17 points, 12 rebounds, and 12 assists to carry the No. 15 Bucs to a 69-49 win over No. 25 West Georgia Saturday afternoon as they remained unbeaten in Gulf South Conference play.
The Bucs (13-2, 4-0 GSC) took the lead for good midway through the first half when

Cory McArthy (St. Louis, Mo./Christian Brothers College HS) open for a corner three-pointer to spark a 9-0 run. Three straight baskets in the paint from
Trey Casey (Cincinnati, Ohio/La Salle HS), Warner, and
Harry Green (Memphis, Tenn./White Station HS) gave the Bucs a 25-17 edge with 5:42 remaining in the first half, and the Wolves (15-3, 2-2) never came closer than five points again.
When the Wolves cut the margin to 43-38 on a Da'Ron Sims basket with 14:03 remainint, the Bucs exploded with a 24-4 run that left them ahead 67-42 on a Casey layup with 2:35 remaining. Dennis scored four points and four assists during the run, part of a second half where he scored 10 points with seven rebounds and seven assists against no turnovers.
For the game, Warner scored 26 on 11-of-15 shooting with seven rebounds, six assists, and three blocks. Dennis was 6-11 from the floor and added four blocks and three steals to his triple-double, just the second in the nation this year. Paine guard Kedric Taylor had 16 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists in a December win over Miles for the only other D-II triple double this season. McArthy added 11 points and three assists, and Casey tacked on nine points.
Lavon Gray led the Wolves with 10 points. Travis Ellison and Da'Ron Sims added seven each for the Wolves.
For the game, the Bucs shot 56 percent (28-of-50) from the floor, with a 44-30 edge in points in the paint as they worked the backdoor cuts of their Princeton offense to perfection. The Wolves shot 34.4 percent (21-of-61) overall. The Bucs out-rebounded UWG 33-28, offsetting a 12-5 UWG lead in offensive rebounds, but they committed 14 turnovers while forcing 11 form the Wolves.
The Bucs return to action Thursday night at 7 p.m. when they host North Alabama.
