Box Score ROME, Ga.—Four different players scored to lead the Christian Brothers University Bucs to a 4-0 Gulf South Conference win at Shorter Sunday afternoon.
The Bucs (7-5-1, 5-2-1 GSC) took the lead in the 27th minute, when
Michael Hollier (Lafayette, La./Teurlings HS) scored unassisted after a corner kick.
Daniel Jenkins (Somerset, England/Millfield School) scored off an assist from
Jose Ferraz (Belo Horizonte, Brazil/) in the 33rd minute to double the margin. Ferraz opened the second-half scoring in the 47th minute, when he headed in a cross from
Adamandios Toras (Meitarie, La./Archbishop Rummel HS), and
Tony Aloia (Hallsville, Texas/Hallsville HS) capped the scoring in the 84th minute as he finished a Jenkins corner kick, which was also assisted by
William McAllister (Collierville, Tenn./Collierville HS).
The Bucs peppered the Shorter (3-10-1, 2-6) defense with 31 shots, tied for third-most in a game in school history and the most since setting the record with 33 against Alabama-Huntsville in 2008. CBU out-shot the Hawks 31-5, including an 18-0 edge in shots on goal.
The Bucs play their next three games at home, starting Friday night at 7 p.m., when they take on West Florida.
