Box Score MEMPHIS—The Christian Brothers University Bucs out-shot Union 24-6 Wednesday night, but the visitors claimed a 2-1 victory in double overtime in the Bucs' final home game of the season.
After a scoreless first half, the Bulldogs (7-3-4, 6-2-3 GSC) struck first in the 56th minute as Clayton Martin headed in a Chip Crockarell corner kick. The Bucs (8-7-1, 6-4-1) finally equalized in the 80th minute as
Michael Hollier (Lafayette, La./Teurlings HS) scored on a sliding shot off a double assist from
Andrew Ballard (Memphis, Tenn./Briarcrest Christian HS) and
Adamandios Toras (Meitarie, La./Archbishop Rummel HS).
The score remained level until the 103rd minute, when Kemal Gogic scored off a header on a Pedro Rodrigues free kick for the golden goal on the only shot in the second overtime.
The Bulldogs' two goals came on their only two shots after halftime, as the Bucs out-shot them 13-1 in the second half and 3-0 in the first overtime. The Bucs held an 8-4 edge in shots on goal.
The Bucs finish the regular season on the road Sunday afternoon at 3:30 when they visit Delta State. They open GSC Tournament play Friday, Nov. 2, at 11 a.m. in the GSC semifinals against either West Alabama or Delta State.
