Box Score SEARCY, Ark.—Host Harding outscored the No. 12 Christian Brothers University Bucs 20-8 over the final nine minutes, including overtime, to rally to a 68-63 win over the Bucs Monday night in a non-conference game.
The Bucs (3-1) appeared to have taken control of the game late in the second half, using a 12-2 run capped by a
Harry Green (Memphis, Tenn./White Station HS) steal and basket that gave the Bucs a 55-48 lead with 4:45 remaining. The Bisons (4-0) answered with a 4-0 run, knotting the game at 57 on a Bradley Spencer fastbreak layup with 1:42 remaining. Each team made two free throws the rest of regulation to send the game to overtime.
In the extra period, Harding forward Hayden Johnson sank a pair of triples to give Harding the lead, and the Bisons made 3-of-4 free throws in the final minute to seal the win.
Pat Graham (Bowling Green, Ohio/Bowling Green HS) matched Green with a team-high 15 for the Bucs, followed by 12 from
Michael Drake (Little Rock, Ark./Catholic HS) and 11 from
Cory McArthy (St. Louis, Mo./Christian Brothers College HS).
Spencer scored a game-high 22 for the Bisons, while Zach Roddenberry scored 19 with a game-high 13 rebounds. Johnson added 10.
The Bucs shot 45.3 percent (24-of-53) to the Bisons' 37.3 percent (19-of-51), but the Bisons were 22-of-26 (84.6 percent) at the charity stripe to the Bucs' 8-of-13 (61.5 percent). Harding also out-rebounded the Bucs 33-29 and forced 14 turnovers while committing 12.
The Bucs return to action Saturday afternoon at 4 p.m. as they visit Delta State. Their next home game is set for Tuesday, Dec. 4, against Trevecca Nazarene.
