Box Score MEMPHIS—Visiting Harding out-scored the Christian Brothers University Bucs 18-3 in fastbreak points as they pulled away to a 66-48 win Sunday afternoon in the final game of 2012 for both schools as well as the final non-conference game of the season for both teams.
The Bisons (8-3) used a 14-2 run late in the first half to open a 24-13 lead on back-to-back fastbreak layups by Hayden Johnson with 3:33 remaining in the half, and the Bucs would come no closer than eight points the rest of the way.
Trey Casey (Cincinnati, Ohio/La Salle HS) paced the Bucs (6-3) with 14 points as he returned to action after missing the previous two games with an injury.
Cory McArthy (St. Louis, Mo./Christian Brothers College HS) added 10, and
Pat Graham (Bowling Green, Ohio/Bowling Green HS) scored nine to go with eight rebounds.
Zach Roddenberry led Harding with 21 points and nine rebounds, while Tony Cochran added 20 as he was 5-of-6 from the floor, including 4-of-5 from three-point range. Bradley Spencer scored 11, and Johnson added 10.
The Bucs shot season-lows 30.8 percent (16-of-52) from the floor and 22.7 percent (5-of-22) from three-point range, while the Bisons shot 52.3 percent (23-of-44) for the game. Harding out-rebounded the Bucs 32-28, but the Bucs held a 10-4 edge in offensive rebounds and forced 14 Harding turnovers while committing 10.
The Bucs return to the court Thursday night at 7 p.m. for their GSC home opener against North Alabama.
