Box Score LIVINGSTON, Ala.—Host West Alabama remained in sole possession of first place in the Gulf South Conference standings as they topped the Christian Brothers University Bucs 2-1 in overtime Sunday afternoon.
The Bucs (3-5, 2-2 GSC) struck first when
Kevin Tikhomiroff (Sao Paulo, Brazil/Complexo Eucacional Contemporaneo) scored off a feed from
Jose Ferraz (Belo Horizonte, Brazil/) in the 32nd minute, but the Tigers (7-1, 3-0) knotted the game in the 56th minute when Hamza Tabbakh scored off a cross from Brian Meadows.
The score remained level at one until overtime, when Clay Green scored unassisted for the game-winner in the 93rd minute.
The Bucs out-shot UWA 13-8, including an 8-6 advantage in shots on goal, but UWA goalkeeper Jack Moore made seven saves to earn the victory.
The Bucs have a week off before their next game, Sunday afternoon, Sept. 30, at Union at 3:30 p.m. Their next home game is Friday night, Oct. 5, at 7:30 p.m. against Delta State.
