Tigers Edge Bucs in Overtime

Kevin Tikhomiroff scored the game's first goal, but the Bucs dropped a 2-1 overtime decision at West Alabama Sunday afternoon.
Box Score LIVINGSTON, Ala.—Host West Alabama remained in sole possession of first place in the Gulf South Conference standings as they topped the Christian Brothers University Bucs 2-1 in overtime Sunday afternoon.

The Bucs (3-5, 2-2 GSC) struck first when Kevin Tikhomiroff (Sao Paulo, Brazil/Complexo Eucacional Contemporaneo) scored off a feed from Jose Ferraz (Belo Horizonte, Brazil/) in the 32nd minute, but the Tigers (7-1, 3-0) knotted the game in the 56th minute when Hamza Tabbakh scored off a cross from Brian Meadows.

The score remained level at one until overtime, when Clay Green scored unassisted for the game-winner in the 93rd minute.

The Bucs out-shot UWA 13-8, including an 8-6 advantage in shots on goal, but UWA goalkeeper Jack Moore made seven saves to earn the victory.

The Bucs have a week off before their next game, Sunday afternoon, Sept. 30, at Union at 3:30 p.m.  Their next home game is Friday night, Oct. 5, at 7:30 p.m. against Delta State.
