Argos Rally Past Bucs 2-1

Box Score PENSACOLA, Fla.-West Florida forward Fernando Silveira scored a goal in each half to lift host West Florida to a 2-1 win over the Christian Brothers University Bucs Friday night.

Jose Ferraz (Belo Horizonte, Brazil/) put the Bucs (6-8-1, 4-7-1 GSC) ahead 1-0 in the 28th minute when he scored off a Diego Silva Vieira (Belo Horizonte, Brazil/Colegio Pitagoras) cross from the right side. Silveira scored on a free kick from 35 yards out to equalize in the 36th minute.

Silveira put the Argos (10-4-1, 9-2-1) ahead when he scored off a give-and-go move with Jack Salafrio in the 68th minute, a strike that proved to be the game-winner.

The Argos out-shot CBU 14-8 for the game, including a 6-2 edge in shots on goal.

The Bucs visit West Alabama Sunday at 1 p.m. before wrapping up their GSC schedule with a 1 p.m. Wednesday visit to Delta State. Their final home game is set for Saturday, Nov. 2, at 5 p.m. as they host Palm Beach Atlantic.
