Bucs Top Tigers 4-2

Samuel Wilson scored a goal and an assist in the Bucs' 4-2 win at West Alabama Sunday afternoon.
Box Score LIVINGSTON, Ala.-Four different players scored to lift the Christian Brothers University Bucs to a 4-2 win at West Alabama Sunday afternoon.

Jose Ferraz (Belo Horizonte, Brazil/) opened the scoring in the ninth minute as he scored unassisted for his 11th goal of the season to put the Bucs (7-8-1, 5-7-1 GSC). In the 26th minute, Kevin Tikhomiroff (Sao Paulo, Brazil/Complexo Eucacional Contemporaneo) sent a corner kick into the box for Samuel Wilson (Memphis, Tenn./Christian Brothers HS), who headed it home for his first career goal.

The Tigers (10-5-1, 7-5-1) broke through in the 28th minute when Vitor Gazza fired a shot from 12 yards out into the top left corner of the net, sending the game to halftime with the Bucs ahead 2-1.

Wilson set up another goal in the 67th minute, when Matt Derise (Lafayette, La./St. Thomas More HS) headed in his throw-in to give the Bucs a 3-1 edge, and Diego Silva Vieira (Belo Horizonte, Brazil/Colegio Pitagoras) tacked on another score in the 73rd minute, scoring off a double-assist by Ferraz and Youssef Naciri (Casablanca, Morocco/LAK High School).

William Artige scored unassisted as time expired to set the final margin at 4-2.

The Bucs out-shot UWA 17-13 for the game, including an 11-6 edge in shots on goal. Britton McGuire (Memphis, Tenn./Memphis University School) made four saves to earn the victory.

The Bucs close out their GSC schedule Wednesday afternoon at 2 p.m. as they visit Delta State. Their final regular-season contest is Saturday, Nov. 2, as they host Palm Beach Atlantic.
