Jarrian Cutrer (Lafayette, La., Episcopal School of Acadiana) set a school record with three assists to lead the Christian Brothers University Bucs to a 4-1 win over visiting Rhodes Monday night at Signaigo Field.
Despite a 12-0 edge in shots for the first half, the Bucs (5-5-0) were unable to score until the 59th minute, when
Paul Banks (Memphis, Tenn./Christian Brothers HS) scored off a cross by
Youssef Naciri (Casablanca, Morocco/LAK High School). Cutrer's three assists came in a 12-minute span as the Bucs put it out of reach.
In the 67th minute, he sent a cross in for
Michael Hollier (Lafayette, La./Teurlings HS), who headed it past Rhodes goalkeeper Riley Sheen. In the 72nd minute, he fed a pass to Naciri, who scored his first goal of the season, and he won a loose ball away from Sheen and fired a quick pass to
Matt Derise (Lafayette, La./St. Thomas More HS) for another goal in the 79th minute to give the Bucs a 4-0 edge.
The Lynx (5-6-0) set the final margin in the 88th minute as Eric Ly intercepted a CBU clearing attempt and sent a cross to Jonathan Fisher in the middle of the six-yard box for the goal.
The Bucs out-shot Rhodes 20-2 for the game, including an 8-1 edge in shots on goal.
The Bucs return to action Friday night at 7:30 p.m. as they host Union.
