No. 19 Argos Eliminate Bucs 2-0

Box Score PENSACOLA, Fla.-No. 19 West Florida scored twice in 63 seconds as they ended the Christian Brothers University Bucs' bid for a third straight Gulf South Conference championship Friday afternoon with a 2-0 win in the semifinals of the GSC Soccer Tournament.

The game was scoreless for 80 minutes, but in the 81st, Dillon Gallet headed a lead pass for Jack Salafrio, who scored the only goal the Argos (13-4-1) would need. Just 63 secnds later, in the 82nd minute, Gallet was on the receiving end as he finished off a cross from Nick Salafrio to set the final margin at 2-0.

For the game, the Argos out-shot the Bucs (7-11-1) 14-8, including a 7-5 edge in shots on goal.

Senior goalkeeper Jaime Garcia (San Salvador, El Salvador/Lincoln School) made three saves in the game, and the Bucs' defense helped him out with two brilliant team saves in the 27th minute to keep the game scoreless.

The top-seeded Argos advance to Sunday afternoon's championship game, where they will face West Florida at 1:30 p.m.
