Box Score MEMPHIS-Visiting Delta State rallied from a 15-point first-half deficit to claim a 65-63 win over the Christian Brothers University Bucs Saturday afternoon at Canale Arena.

Charlie Oswald (Memphis, Tenn./Christian Brothers HS) trey with 6:44 remaining in the first half. CBU went cold the rest of the way, however, making just four of their final 23 three-pointers.
DSU (8-1, 1-0) clawed back into the game with a 13-2 burst, pulling within 29-25 on a Michael Weems three-pointer with 3:59 remaining in the first half. An 18-6 run early in the second half lifted them to a 52-44 lead on a Devin Schmidt triple with 11:15 remaining. The Bucs trimmed the lead to 62-60 on a
Harry Green (Memphis, Tenn./White Station HS) trey with 16.5 seconds remaining, but DSU made three of their final four free throws and the Bucs couldn't score again until Green banked in a three at the buzzer.
Green scored a team-high 17 for the Bucs, while
Ryan Fleming (Cincinnati, Ohio/La Salle HS) scored 14 with seven rebounds.
Sidy Sall (Dakar, Senegal/Seeds Academy) scored 12 with nine rebounds and three steals.
Schmidt led DSU with 14 points, nine rebounds and five assists against just one turnover. Willie Readus scored 18 with 11 rebounds, and Jack Madgen added 10.
The Statesmen shot 46.9 percent (23-of-49) to the Bucs' 36.9 percent (24-of-65). DSU shot 42.9 percent (6-of-14) from three-point range while holding the Bucs to 31.3 percent (10-of-32). DSU out-rebounded the Bucs 39-28, but CBU had a 9-7 edge in offensive rebounds and forced 17 turnovers while committing just nine.
The Bucs hit the road for two games next week to wrap up their 2013 schedule. They visit Alabama-Huntsville Thursday night at 7:30, and they visit West Alabama Saturday at 4 p.m. Their next home game is Saturday, Jan. 4, at 4 p.m. as they host Shorter.
