Tigers Beat Bucs 75-52

Trey Casey scored 15 points, but the Bucs dropped a 75-52 decision at West Alabama Saturday afternoon.
Box Score LIVINGSTON, Ala.-Host West Alabama out-rebounded the Christian Brothers University Bucs 44-27 Saturday afternoon, converting that to a 75-52 win in the final game of 2013 for both schools.

The Tigers (5-4, 2-1 GSC) never trailed, but they didn't pull away until a 12-2 run bridging the halftime break gave them a 38-24 cushion on a Desmond Raymond layup with 17:38 remaining in the game. The Bucs (4-5, 0-3) never came closer than nine points again.

Ryan Fleming (Cincinnati, Ohio/La Salle HS) led the Bucs with 15 points, seven rebounds and four assists, while Trey Casey (Cincinnati, Ohio/La Salle HS) added 15 with six rebounds and two steals. Sidy Sall (Dakar, Senegal/Seeds Academy) scored 14 points with six rebounds.

Lleon Tillman led UWA with 15 points and 10 rebounds, and Jarell Byrd tacked on 14. Sandy Underwood scored 12, and Raymond added 11.

The Bucs shot 38.9 percent (21-of-54) to UWA's 47.6 percent (30-of-63). UWA held a 17-8 edge in offensive rebounds for the game, grabbing 17 offensive boards to CBU's 19 defensive rebounds.

The Bucs return to action Saturday, Jan. 4, at 4 p.m. as they host Shorter.
