Bucs Tame Mustangs 108-65

Harry Green scored 20 points as the Bucs rolled to a 108-65 win over Central Baptist Thursday night.
Box Score MEMPHIS-The Christian Brothers University Bucs posted their highest point total since 2005 as they rolled to a 108-65 win over Central Baptist in their final non-conference game of the season Thursday night at Canale Arena.

The Bucs (4-2) started slowly, trailing 8-5 after two minutes as head coach Mike Nienaber called a 30-second timeout. After the timeout, CBU went on a 29-4 run, builting their lead to 36-14 on a pair of Harry Green (Memphis, Tenn./White Station HS) free throws with 8:27 remaining in the half.

The Mustangs (1-9) never came closer than 18 points again, with CBU leading by as many as 43 points in the victory.

Green scored a game-high 20 points for the Bucs, while Sidy Sall (Dakar, Senegal/Seeds Academy) added 18 with seven rebounds and three blocks. Cory McArthy (St. Louis, Mo./Christian Brothers College HS) knocked down five three-pointers for his 15 points, and Drew Hildreth (Memphis, Tenn./Bolton HS) scored 16 with six rebounds and three blocks. Trey Casey (Cincinnati, Ohio/La Salle HS) added 10 points, seven rebounds, seven assists and four steals against one turnover in 29 minutes.

The Bucs shot 55.1 percent (38-of-69) for the game overall, including 44.4 percent (12-of-27) from three-point range. CBU committed 16 of their 23 turnovers in the second half, forcing 22 Mustang turnovers. CBC was 33.8 percent (24-of-71) overall, and the Bucs out-rebounded CBC 47-38.

Thursday's game was originally scheduled for Saturday afternoon. With an ice storm predicted to hit both Memphis and Arkansas Friday, the schools agreed to play tonight to beat the ice, as CBC's home game originally scheduled for tonight was itself postponed due to travel concerns.

The Bucs open GSC play Saturday, Dec. 14, as they host Delta State at 4 p.m.
