Box Score CLEVELAND, Tenn.-The Christian Brothers University Bucs shot a season-high 50 percent from three-point range as they knocked off host Lee Saturday afternoon.
The hosts led for most of the first seven minutes, but the Bucs (7-5, 3-3 GSC) used an 11-2 run over two and a half minutes to seize the lead for good.
Drew Hildreth (Memphis, Tenn./Bolton HS) sparked the run with a three-pointer, and a
Ryan Fleming (Cincinnati, Ohio/La Salle HS) jumper capped it, giving the Bucs a 22-16 lead with 10:36 remaining in the first half.
The Flames (6-6, 2-4) never came closer than four points again, and the Bucs extended their lead to as many as 14 points at 64-50 on back-to-back
Trey Casey (Cincinnati, Ohio/La Salle HS) layups with 6:19 remaining.
Casey scored a game-high 26 points, one off his career-high, adding five rebounds and four assists. He was 9-of-15 from the floor, including 5-of-8 from three-point range. Hildreth scored 15 and grabbed a team-high eight rebounds in his first start of the season, and
Harry Green (Memphis, Tenn./White Station HS) added 12. Fleming scored nine to go with six assists, four steals and four rebounds.
Corey Billingsley paced the Flames with 14 points. Stedman Ford scored 13, and Jamal Worthington added 12.
The Bucs shot 51.9 percent (27-of-52) overall, including 50 percent (10-of-20) from three-point range. The Flames shot 50.9 percent (27-of-53) overall but just 12.5 percent (2-of-16) from beyond the arc. The Flames out-rebounded CBU 31-24, including a 9-8 edge in offensive rebounds, but the Bucs forced 14 turnovers while committing 12.
The Bucs return to action Thursday night at 7 p.m. as they host Union.
