MEMPHIS – Christian Brothers University men's soccer coach
Clint Browne, has announced that his team is scheduled to host Memphis' newest professional sports team, Memphis 901 FC, for an exhibition as a part of Memphis 901 FC's preseason schedule.
The game is scheduled to be played at Signaigo Field at noon on Saturday, Feb. 16. Tickets may be purchased at the gate, for $5. Half of all proceeds will be donated to St. Jude Children's Hospital, on behalf of CBU women's soccer player Anna Della Rosa, who was recently diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia.
"(This) is a really good opportunity for us, said Browne. Guys are always wanting to test themselves as athletes to see how their progression has gone, and this will be a great test as they match themselves against the newest professional team in Memphis."
In its inaugural season in the United Soccer League, Memphis 901 FC is set to host 17 home matches in Autozone Park. The first match is scheduled for Saturday, March 9th at 6:00 p.m. against the Tampa Bay Rowdies.
