OWENSBORO - The Christian Brothers University cross country teams participated in the Fast Cats Classic hosted by Kentucky Wesleyan, Saturday morning. Peter Torres paced himself and the men's team to a second place finish. Johanna Wistokat crossed the finish line in 11th place, which helped CBU to a fourth place team result.

Torres completed his 4.97 miles (8k) in 25:30, which was a a pace of 5:05 per mile. Torres finished a mere 11 seconds behind the first place participant. Berket Mesele was the only other men's athlete to finish in the top 10. Mesele crossed the finish line in ninth with a time of 26:13 (5:16 mile pace).

Wistokat barely missed a top 10 finish as she crossed the finish line in 18:59 (5:05 mile pace), which was only a single second behind the individual who rounded out the top 10 runners.  

The men's team finished with 70 points, which was enough to put them in second place out of the 15 schools that participated. This is the highest finish for the men's team this season. The women's team totaled 140 points, which was 37 points away from the third place team, the University of Findlay.
