Box Score 3 MEMPHIS - The Christian Brothers University men's tennis team dropped its first matches of the season, as it fell in its Gulf South Conference opener to Montevallo, bounced back to defeat Arkansas-Fort Smith and wrapped up the weekend with a closely contested setback to Spring Hill.
CBU is now 7-2 on the season.

- The Bucs match with Spring Hill lasted over four hours.
- Spring Hill took a 3-1 advantage after three straight singles victories, including the Bennage-Graevinghoff match that saw an 18 game final set that saw Graevinghoff fight off three match points.
- CBU closed the gap when Chabaud earned the No. 1 singles point.
- Freshman Victor Fantaziu earned a big victory for the Bucs, squaring the match at 3, when he earned a win in a tiebreaker.
- The match came down to a marathon between Deck and Calzacorta that saw Deck earn a hard fought win over Calzacorta.
