In the coming weeks, we will be honoring our senior student-athletes from all spring sports who had their seasons/careers cut short due to cancellation of competition across all sports in response to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. 

Paul Chabaud is a member of the men's tennis team. Paul finished the season with a 12-2 record at the No. 1 singles position. 

What is your major?
I'm a civil engineering major

What are your future plans/career goals?
To work as an engineer worldwide, keep traveling and fight global warming

What were your thoughts when you found out the season was being canceled?
I was frustrated of not being able to play my last season which I trained hard to get ready.

What led you to CBU?
The civil engineering degree and I felt comfortable talking to my future teammates/coach

What has been your favorite thing about your time here?
The bus ride with the team and the trips

What is one of your best memories from your career?
My first time playing tennis with my sister when I was 5.
Clinching a tight game and falling on the court like if I won a grand slam. And then all the teammates join on the court and we celebrate.

What is one of the most funny/embarrassing moments from your career?
Once, I won the final of a tournament so both players shake hands, but I was too focus that instead going to my opponent I went to the baseline and got ready for the next return.

Who is someone who has had a major impact on you – be it in your athletic career or personally?
My parents and sister. My teammate Andres has been a huge support this past 2 years. Coach MJ was a great support too he always listens and finds solutions if one of us (players) has issues.

What is your favorite activity or best talent outside of your sport?
Play music 24/7 and any genre. I love cooking as well.

If you had to be quarantined with four celebrities, who would they be?
Thomas Pesquet, Benoit Paire,  Dj Snake and Tibi Champion

If you were going to be isolated in your house for a month, what are the first three items you'd make sure to grab at the store?

Kinder Bueno, Saucisson, Guac
